Candles are a wonderful indulgence, a gift of ‘me’ time. The power of the fragrance on our sense of smell can relax and revive you. Or it can take you back down memory lane to joyful places or events. Whether buying for yourself, or as a gift, the ritual of choosing a candle, admiring its design and enjoying its scent, gives the process a deep and personal touch.

I have been working as a massage and cranio sacral therapist for the past 20 years and love the way a scented candle can bring a calm, cosy and relaxing atmosphere to my clinic room.  My aim is that, from the moment my clients enter the room, until the end of their treatment, they feel calm and restored. The scent of a beautiful natural wax candle adds positively to their experience.

Candle making has been something I have wanted to master for many years. Having grown up in England and having spent a good part of my adult life there, I later relocated to Zürich to be with my Swiss husband. During the recent pandemic, I finally found the inspiration to develop my love of candles into a small business. Whiteside & Co was founded to produce natural products combining traditional Swiss quality with quintessentially English flair. 

Our candles are hand-poured with care in the old town of Zürich, where we create small batches of candles using blended soy wax. This produces an exquisite looking candle with a clean burn and a great fragrance throw. 

The Travel Collection reflects our personal travel experiences. We wanted to trigger favourite holiday feelings with familiar holiday scents. The fragrances, based on the smell of local herbs, fruits and plants are specially chosen to spark memories: either bringing us back instantly to places travelled, or indeed, conjuring up places on our wish list. We hope these scents will inspire you or help you reminisce - ultimately we have created them for your enjoyment.
